You make an interesting point here Hoof. Speaking of murdering farm animals, I wonder if Cherry Bomb is a vegan?

I've only ever hunted wild birds, but I'm certainly not going to pass judgement on those that hunt released birds, due to circumstances. At least your out in the field Hoof, doing what you enjoy, as opposed to sitting in front of the computer throwing bombs, as it seems some like to do.

Fine looking hammer gun, by the way, and that chukar doesn't look any different than the wild ones I shoot here in Idaho.

Whenever some one questions hunting ethics the first thing from the peanut gallery is the guy must be a vegan or anti. Nope I've been a hunter my whole life and I or friends eat every thing I shoot while real hunting. Killing tame planted birds because you rationalise how busy you are and have tto many commitments, too far to drive and want to kill something to take pix with the gun you are so proud of, and insinuating that is sport, isn't fair to the birds and it isn't fair chase hunting despite the fellows here writing each of us to decide for yourself what is fair chase, or going ahead to do whatever makes you happy. You can rationalise any thing that way. Some here should do serious thinking on hunting ethics and fair chase hunting beyond talk groups where you sit with your morning coffee or evening cocktail and are entertained and influenced by what you see and read, right or wrong as it is. I prefer hunting wild birds, but I sure do miss the put and take hunting I did at Silver Springs SP in IL which was 25 miles from where I used to live. Silver Springs had 1,600 acres and they'd release birds every day. However, after a month into the season there were a lot of birds that had become pretty wild and behaved like wild birds. It made it similar to hunting wild birds during opening week of hunting season. In addition, while I don't care to hunt planted birds, they were sure useful when I was training my golden to hunt. You boys that have to take cheap shots at others (you in particular CB) need to climb down from your pedestals now and then and view the world from someone else’s perspective.

Some are just too self-centered Steve, can't help speaking from that narcissistic pedestal, displaying the struggle to maintain their elevation with awkward holier than thou poses.

CB, I took the time to read a random selection of your previous posts on a variety of subjects, in misfires and in the more popular areas of this forum.

I don't know if you are like this in real life but MANY of your posts are critical, judgmental and rude, IMHO. Lots of attitude but not a lot of contribution. While you enjoy your morning coffee or evening cocktail, you might want to do some serious thinking about that.
