G'Day,
After searching the internet for information about Lawn and Alder shotguns I came across a listing for one on Toby Barclay's Heritage Guns web site. I emailed him to see if he had any information on these shotguns and he directed me to contact this forum.
So, does anyone have any info about the Lawn and Alder company, guns produced, and dates of manufacture. I have one that has been passed down to me from family. The serial number is in the low 100's. I can attach some photo's of the shotgun but I can not see a way of doing it at this moment.

Lawn & Alder were purveyors of all things fine for gentlemen and ladies in London. They retailed silverware, jewellery, spirits and wine, luggage and, as we see here, the occasional gun/rifle. Their wares were exported all over the British Trade routes. Like a small Aspreys (or a high-brow Army & Navy), the final address was just across from Asprey & Garrard in Bond Street.
Although the business started with some actual silversmiths, most of the items baring their name were made up in the trade and I suggest this is the case with the guns they retailed too.

Mike G'Day, Yep, I do come from the land down under. The gun is a 12 gauge. I have photo's but I can't see how to post them on this forum.
