I have a CZ model 49 12G double that I was wanting to put a recoil pad on. The stock is curved so a straight pad will not fit and I really don't want to cut the stock as I want the length the pad will add. Does anyone know if there is a pad that will bend slightly and conform to the stock? All that I have ever used had a hard base.

A very popular pad at the moment is the ISIS pad known as the 'green' pad due to its colour available in various thicknesses and profiles.

I just installed a pad on a double gun with a radius cut on the butt. I placed the pad in hot water and was able to conform the base (after several tries) to the butt stock. Turned out pretty good and no wood was removed.

I had the same concern with my Manufrance- this Decelerator pad bent quite well and has stayed tight.

The decelerator pads have a steel insert in the base. This should help in bending them to fit a curved butt. Just be careful to buy the correct sized pad. If you buy to large of one, you can grind into the steel insert.

Another option is use a plastic spacer and grind it to meet the curve while keeping the pad side flat.

Just a note... For older guns where a silvers style pad is correct, I know the actual silvers pads as well as the CSMC period correct red pads are quite flexible.
