The other issue is that the Romas were around for a long time before VB began producing the 112's. If you ask John Boyd, who was a VB importer, I think he'll tell you there was a general decline in overall quality before VB went out of business. I don't think the Romas from the 90's, gun for gun, compare all that well with the Romas from the 60's/70's--although they were still good guns.
