It looks like a GPR to me. I just checked Terry's rifle again and the extractor plate is on top. We get forgetful when we get old.

With the Stevens-Pope, the Krag extractor pulled directly on the cartridge case. With the GPR, the Krag extractor pulls on a secondary extractor. The whole extractor is much like a Winchester Single Shot set up for .22 rimfire.

Somewhere early on I would slug the barrel. The early ones were intended to shoot .22 Extra Long and have a 0.226" groove diameter and an 18" twist. The later ones were set up for .22 Long Rifle.
