I'd definitely check the Hunter One Trigger to make sure that its still functioning correctly, and with live ammo, not just snap caps. If its out of whack, your investment may quickly become much more expensive, and sometimes even irreparable.

skeettx, your second picture is a Syracuse Quality 2 as it was referred to in a period catalog. In 1896, Hunter Arms changed the wording to Grade. Yup; it's got those mutton chop cheek bottoms Skeettx; what do you shoot in the 10 ga? Do you use a reducer? It is damascus; correct?

"Yup; it's got those mutton chop cheek bottoms."
So did the early Fultons
Hunter One Triggers take a bad rap. The biggest problem with a HOT is giving the gun to a gunsmith that knows nothing of the HOT. Many, many times I've heard that the gun worked before being given to a gunsmith and after getting it back, didn't. One simply thing was they tightened the lock plate connecting screw one turn or even a half turn too much. Basically a great design with few moving parts. Want to look at a nightmare, look at an Infallable.

I just bought Gaugemates 10 to 12 as I reload 12s. Mine is damascus with very very light surface erosion in places. Chambers are fine.
