It was an innovative design and a well made gun. A design strong enough to withstand the rigors of competitive shooting to the extent that the German gunmaker Krieghoff thought enough of it to acquire the right to manufacture it under their label as the K32. I'd love to have one. The one depicted below with 20 gauge barrels is a buddy's. It was his grandfather's gun who had Simmons complete it into 4 barrel set. It was hunted hard by the grandfather and shot in competitive skeet. Billy's father inherited it and hunted it hard into his 80s. Billy now hunts it and some day his son will hunt it. It is one tough gun.
I agree. Believe Mike McIntosh had one at one time. Interesting that two of the great heavy and solid two-holers from the Depression era are still alive today, albiet in different 'costumes" the Rem 32 a la Kreighoff, and the Winchester M21 a la Galazan-- stout, rugged, good Yankee Americana of another era indeed.
