The Remington model 1894 was made with two types of steel barrels, Remington steel barrels,(same type as used on the model 1900)and Ordnance steel barrels, plus the Damascus barrels. The Remington site left the Remington steel barrels out for some reason?

There are a lot I don't own, many Eightbore got to before me!! And, Reb87 is rubbing it in that I don't have a 10-gauge "Remington Hammerless Double Barrel Shotgun"!!

Damascus of course, and has very nice barrels.
Works well with Gamebore Blackpowder shells.

But not a c 1894 Remington!.. The grade is 'C' 'Quite a nice piece of 'French' any help would be greatly appreciated..Crossedchisles..dt.

David, most of the reproduction Remington buttplates are made way too small for most Model 1894 guns, even the 16 gauges. Be careful of the dimensions if you buy a repro. Researcher, I don't remember to whom I sold my near mint 1894 ten gauge ejector, but it was expensive. Oh, now I remember. I sold it to Jim Parker and, oddly, it sold for a reasonable price at the Julia Auction, quite a bit less than Jim paid for it. It was a screamer, wish I had it back.

Researcher is more right than wrong about "our" guns. I was talking to him about a minute and a half before he swooped down on the Trap Gun. I had photographed, measured, and checked my bank balance in my quest for the rare little 16 CEO he pictured before he jumped in ahead of me and paid cash. The gun Ortolan mentions, a real find, was outed by a guy I talk to every week. Oh, well.

The Remington 1894's are a quality sleeper. I have several and they are near Westley Richards Quality in many cases.They are the only American Co. that used the Anson and Deeley action and
generally a great value. Here is the buttstock of an 1898 Vintage "AE" trap style with special features.

I'd say the special feature, is the wood and quite handsome it is Stallones.
Nothing at all like my AE - which is sorta rustic and thats being kind!

I have had rustic 1894s, but now that I have sold them, they seem more collectable than rustic. My 30" 16 gauge is an example.
