I leveled the scope and did an initial alignment with a borrowed Bushnell bore sighter. I am anxiously awaiting the recession of snow so I can get to my favorite gravel pit for some shooting. I do not know how long Ruger cataloged the .303. I just assumed it was a special run, perhaps by Davidson. Groove diameter, as listed by Ruger, is .311". My handloads consist of a Saeco 305 sized to .312" with a gas check. With the #2 alloy, the weight is 185 grains. My starting load is 24 grains of IMR 3031. This should result in an initial velocity of 1500 FPS, or thereabouts. Indeed, a chronograph is high on my list of 'must haves'. Cheers!
