With all due respect, Greg, I have to say that the concept of a gun being "balance correctly" is a bit of an old gunmaker's tale. There is no "correctly." There is only "it suits the shooter or it doesn't." We would not say "it has correct stock dimensions," would we? Handling dimensions are just like stock fit dimensions - facts/characteristics of the individual gun. You are right about the hands on inspection - if the purchaser has educated himself as to his prefered stock fit and handling characteristics.

I'm going to find someway to drive a green stake through the heart of "correctly balanced" so help me!!

Hi Don, we both mean the same, just different terms. You are right about if it fits the shooter. My LOP is 14 1/8" to 14 1/4", but can shoot a 13 3/4" or 14 1/2" depending on the stock and trigger placement. This being said, I've had folks tell me that I NEED to shoot at least a 14 3/4" to 15" LOP, why, because that's what they shoot or in one case read!

Anyway, your points are well taken. And as I said, we both mean the same, just different terms.

Take Care My Friend!

Greg
