Take a cylinder or sphere of lead just a shade larger than bore and push it thru the whole length. Consult European Sporting Cartrdiges by Dixon, always.

I just make my chamber casting a little longer into the rifling. Not as accurate but suits me fine.

9.3x65 cases can be made from 9.3x74R, by "swaging" the head to size,turn the rim to size and trim to length. The Collath case is shown in Cartridges of the World(often mistaken)as having a .443" head diameter.In my experience,Norma 9.3x74R often measures .460" at the head.This leaves a difference of .017",which I would do with two .010" reductions to account for "springback".If this didn't prove necessary,I would open up the final die by one or two thousanths. Sounds like a fun project-have at it.

I own, shoot and cast round balls for several muzzleloaders. I've always chosen a round ball slightly over groove diameter and drove it through the barrel after very lightly oiling the bore. Depending on the rifle I may make two slugs and drive one part way down the muzzle and another part way up the bore from the breech. I have also done as Jani menitoned and lengthened my chamber cast a couple inches. All have worked well for me.

Cracking there Ford, lovely effort and I knew that you had method to the madness of the 9.3X65 Collath. It can't be a barn burner, who what's the ballistics like, similar to all the other variants?

Raimey,
I'm not sure of the ballistics,but they are likely to be similar to 9.3x72R. It used a 193 grain bullet like the x72R. I would start with a starting load for the 9.3x72R, with the 193 gr bullet, and adjust it to "shoot to the sights".
To expand on Vic's( sharps 4590) advice( I do the same),if the balls you have on hand are a little too small, you can flatten them which will expand the diameter to make them fit.
