I just contacted AyA (dirrectly in Spain) and they told me that for custum stockmaking they need:

LENGHT OF PULL
DROP AT COMB
DROP AT HEEL
AND CAST

It's logical. But what have I do if I don't know these figures?

When I proposed to give them my body dimensions they refused.
Very interesting situation. What shall I do? Go to Spain?

Unfortunatelly I Ukraine I haven't seen any try-gun.

Theoreticaly I can measure my available guns but thuth to say their stocks aren't ideal for me. I need something better.

In result I'm returning to one of my previous post where I tryed to find dependance between shooter and stock dimensions.

ivans,
Is there a gun shop or good gun smith near you that "fit" you so that you can find out your exact dimensions. What AYA is asking for is appropriate. It would be impossible for them to make you a custome gun using your body dimensions.

Unless it is not possible to have a stockmaker to dimension the stock, I propose you to choose a bit long and a bit high stock. You can afterwards remove material if required.

Congratulations, what is the delivery time? My wife has a -69 made AyA#2 and she loves the gun.

I own a try gun and have access to a shooting range and am retired so have time. You may stay at my house while we get your dimensions. Then you have to leave (estimate, one day, one night). Let me know when it would be convenient. What size gun do you propose to order and what problems do you anticipate getting your gun from the factory to your home? Would it be easier to have it ordered in US and shipped from US to your home.

If you need to travel internationally to be fit, just go to AYA. Then pick out wood, get fit, discuss all the details.

A very generous offer to a man in Ukraine attempting to buy directly from Spain.

Ivans:

Maybe not ideal, but you can fit yourself and probably come pretty close.

Follow the Technoid's instructions, measure the result and send the dimensions off to AyA or whoever, try to use a sxs (if that's what you're having built) for the self-fitting, the dynamics are a little different than the rest.

In line with pokslok above, get it reasonably long and high. Stocks are easily and cheaply cut down, and its no great shakes getting a comb bent down or slightly shaved. You can't shave a low comb upwards!!!If you can't get a good fitter I personally would go for :-

14 7/8" length
1 3/8" at comb
2 1/4" at heel
with just a touch of std cast at heel (don't know if your left or right handed)

This also is not far off AYA std european dimensions. Remember, very rarely will a stock come out exactly at the dimesnions you give - a case of 1/16" is near enough! The above dimensions suit me - I am 14.5 stones, 5' 11", and am told I am stocky / well built.

The other aspect is that different fitter give different dimensions. When I had my Browning built I knew what fitted me from 30 years experience, and I gave them the dimensions. I would much rather chose my own dimensions through experience rather than have a fitter force onto me his interpretation of how a gun should fit !. Two golden rules, a stock is better higher and longer than being too short and too low. Cast is not so important. I even shoot a left handed cast english gun well - the comb is very very slim and the face is slightly scouped. The benefit is the recoil is more directly in line with my body - rather tahn being on my shoulder extremity - might start a new trend!!! perhaps the old gunmakers new something afterall...

I have a try gun, there is a shooting range very near, and I work full time. You are not welcome to stay at my house, but my neighbor travels frequently and I gather his young Swedish wife (36-24-34) is rather lonely at night judging from the noises I hear. If you send her the dimensions of your body I am sure she will not refuse to provide you with accomodations. I would bring a gun with you, of any dimensions, just in case.
