I got an Baker Model 1897 shotgun this past Christmas. It is missing the fore end, fore end iron and the fore end hanger. However other than that the gun in nearly perfect condition. The case colors are still visible, the Damascus barrels are still beautifully contrasted, the bores are mirror bright and it is so tight if one puts a pice of paper between the barrel and the face of the gun it won't close.

It is a 10 guage and the barrels are 32 inches long. It weighs 9 1/2 pounds even missing a fore end.

Here are some pictures of it.

Now here is where the trouble begins. This is where the fore end hanger should be. However it seems to have been broken off at some time. There is also a small pice of rib missing here as we'll. I am hoping that some one here might know what the original hanger would have looked like so if I end up making one it will look correct. Also any info as to what kind of fore ends were on these gun would be greatly appreciated.

Also if anyone would like pictures of the action completely assembled out of the stock I have some pictures of that as well.
