Greg, is that a Dickinson poking out the window? How's yours (and Wade's, if he didn't borrow your gun) working out? I'm working on picking one up from Cabela's to do a little field test. Something for the boring winter months.

That shot does bring back memories. I saw my dad take lots more pheasants out the window of a 1948 Dodge than I ever saw him take any other way. (When you're shooting a .410 single, taking them on the sit and aiming for the head isn't unreasonable, although it is both illegal--if done from a vehicle--and not terribly sporting.) Took a few myself that way, and attribute at least some of my hearing loss to too many .410's going boom inside the car. In Dad's defense, he learned to shoot them that way during the Depression, when meat on the table was meat on the table. Much later in life, he had a chance to watch my dogs work roosters. He'd never hunted with a good bird dog, and he was absolutely amazed.

We need to put together an 88th ARCOM veterans' hunt. Bob Custer's always looking for more opportunities to shoot pheasants.

I forgot to mention to you all about Wades shooting abilities. This guy is a true marksman and sportsman. While most guys would shoot the bird while it's standing, not Wade.......he lets them start to walk. Heck, I've even saw him shoot one on the run at 25yds....I was impressed.

For those interested, Wade is planning on giving a block of instruction on his shooting/hunting methods. It will be limited seating, so those of you who are interested may want to sign up as fast as you can. Don't know the details of where and when, the cost is only $1000.00 per person and includes coffee, milk and donuts. So hurry!

Greg

Classy "road kill". Turkish double + British Vehicle. A shade tree gunsmith/mechanic's full employment delight? wink Remember, shoot behind, not in front of stationary targets from moving vehicle.
In the South, we practice on mailboxes. No lead required one way or the other on approaching stop signs.

Larry,
I have been shooting one for two years. I bought one of the first ones that came out under the name. It has 5lb trigger pulls acording to my trigger pull gauge. Case color has held up well and so has the blueing. Mine has fixed chockes in IC/Mod. Both this one and my S&W have been flawless in performance. Fit and finish is on par with any base level Beretta or such. The only thing I have never liked about either gun is the poly finish on the stocks as it is not very durable. Balance is excellent and I really enjoy shooting them. I will be picking a 16ga up when I find the right one. I trust them enough to pack them up for Africa again this year.

Greg,

My Belle started her pheasant hunting career in SD, where she learned to watch road ditches with the most lazer like eye sight.

She still begs me to stopped the rig when she sees one in the bar pits.

She would make old Wade a sure enough rootin tootin hunting partner.

Silly you!!! It's ONLY $1000.00! Quite a deal IMO, I got lucky and was able to hunt with the "Master" for a reduced price of only $999.98.

Details to follow, Wade will be on the Pheasants Forever Show "The Flush" later this year.

Best!

Greg

Obviously I need to attend this class since I only bagged a single rooster up there. Evidently the accelerated course I took from AmarilloMike was all hype and a waste of good bbq'd pulled pork I bartered with. Sign me up.
