Mr. Hallquist:
Really need a length to determine the 9.3mm cartridge/maybe X72R.
Crown over W denotes choke or constriction greater than 0.2mm I believe
Crown over S - for shot
Crown over U - denotes inspection
Crown over N with load data is a voluntary semi-smokeless proof and not the subsequent Nitro proof
W - probably last initial of the barrel maker
BG, are you positive it is BG - he would have been the tube knitter
I think the 29 is actually 2g(grams) so it would be 2 grams of Schultz powder & for the moment I can't recall with the N/A stamp to be for the shot tubes only, the rifled tube would have been black powder only
27g Blei is 27 grams of lead shot
How long is the cartridge casing?
Hi Daryl
The 16 Gauge cartridge case is 2 ˝ inch (63.50mm).
The rifle barrel has a slightly tapered smooth channel from approx 10mm to 9.8
To where the riffling screw pattern starts, length is 87mm from ejector face (Closed), to start of screw pattern.
Best wishes from Harry
