With reference to skeettx suggestion to try a 9.3x72R cartridge. This is a good suggestion, but,if a 9.3x72R norm.doesn't chamber: it could still be 9.3x72R,but a different version. If a 9.3x72R doesn't chamber,make a chamber cast,which will ID the chamber.BTY the 118,35 marking would be pre 1911/12 and afterward the bore marking would be in mm, and 8.8mm is a common mark for the 9.3 cartridges.
