Chopperlump has another active post that got me thinking, but I didn't want to hijack his string with my own question. In it he says, "I have a pair of Nitro Specials that I have enjoyed for years. Not fancy, but great shooters with handling that beats the 311's." That got me thinking again about acquiring a "working man's" or "hardware store" gun, or perhaps several ... maybe even the same gun in three gauges. I'm getting excited already! But I know little about these guns. Stevens, Savage Fox, (Ithaca) Lefever Nitro Special, etc. -- which make and model is the cream of the crop, based on factors like strength, weight, handling and finish? I realize there will be many opinions here, but thought some consensus could be found. Thanks in advance for your thoughts! TT
