Why don't you ask about them on the Lefever forum. I never noticed them either.

I will have to look at some of mine, but I don't recall ever seeing any Lefevers bushed except some early ones with the screw-in bushings. I Have Hs from in the 40K range into the 70K range. Have an E in the 10K range & then a G in low 20K range. If any of them have a bushing other than that one 10ga-E Pivot Lefer SN 10,515 with the screw-in I have never noticed it.

PS; How did you determine which way they were inserted from, are they bigger at the rear than on the breech-face?

My 1909 HE is bushed; never noticed it before. Are they screwed in from the rear for replacement or is it possible the bushings are of a tougher metal to prevent wear of the pin holes?

Without taking a gun apart...it sure looked like it could have been a very well done repair of a firing pin issue.

My gunsmith and I were visiting about this today and are guessing that the bushings were pressed in rather than threaded. That would account for the nearly invisible joint.
