As someone else posted already, the first KV scopes were a bit rough by today's standards.
I have held onto a pair of original el Paso made Weaver scopes for many years now. My original K-4 is still seeing action even today on my "beater" Remington 742 and my old K-3 is going to go atop my 1903a3 and a set of Redfield base ad rings once it's all done. That, or I am going to see if Griffin and Howe will install a side mount for me.
Either way, the old non-sealed Weaver scopes tend to hold their own pretty well.
