Yes I have Ellis's book. I have been doing this for many years now. Was in Zimbabwe in September and took Cape Buffalo, Sable, Chobe Bushbuck, and Klipspringer with a .450 #2 Nitro Express that I built on a BRNO 12 bore. Last year I went to South Africa and took Cape Eland, Duiker, Blue Wildebeest, Red Hartebeest, Nyala, and two Warthogs, with a double in .303 British calibre that I built on a Laurona 20 bore. It adds a whole new dimension to the experience to do it with a gun that you've built yourself.
Unfortunately, there is not enough meat in the .410 barrels, 3" forward of the breech, to contain these pressures safely. That's why I'm looking for a 28 gauge.
