A customer brought in a W.W.Greener, 12 gauge shotgun, serial # 27193. The receiver is jammed so he is unable to put the barrels onto the receiver, there is a broken trigger, but the engraving is tiny scroll work, and unbelievable. He first started with "I want it re-blued and a trigger put on it so I can go hunting with it"....I stopped his train of thought and advised before I do anything I am doing a little research as to whether or not this has value, and with all this intriquite engraving I believe it might be worth something. On the receiver it states patent June 7 "81". The serial # puts it between 1880-1895 but closer to 1883 or 84 I suspected. Does anyone have any information on these shotguns? Most important CAN I GET PARTS FOR IT ????

First, no off the shelf parts are available. And the interchangeable system of manufacture was not used by Greener, though by the time you're interested in they were machining parts for final hand fitting. Second, no records survived from that period so we'll need good close up photos before any opinions can be offered.

If you are willing to do some reading, The British Boxlock Gun & Rifle by Diggory Hadoke has a lot of information on the various boxlocks offered by Greener. You need to figure out if it is an A&D, Facile Princeps or a Unique/G-Grade gun.
Such a long, long time to be gone, and a short time to be there.

Sounds interesting. Does it have a side safety? How long are the bbls?
Any pics? If you need help posting them, I would be happy to help out.
