I have a foolproof solution ! First take a tube of FLITZ POLISH [available at any Lowe's]and GENTLY rub the freckling with a tiny amount of the Flitz spread on a soft clean cloth [the fluffier the better e.g. diaper dust cloths] in a circular motion. Then follow with Renaissance Microcrystalline Wax [available at Brownell's, as is the Flitz]to penetrate the metal and lift the rust particles out of the metal's pores and then protect it from coming back. Voi'la Rust is Gone. I have used this method on guns ranging from $20 pistols to Model 21's and Griffin and Howe Rifles...it always works as long as you RUB GENTLY...GO SLOW...DARKEN THE BLUE WITH WAX OFTEN TO GET AND IDEA OF HOW MUCH YOU MIGHT BE TAKING OFF [IF YOU CONTINUE] AND ALWAYS REMEMBER...WITH ANY POLISHING... LESS IS BEST!!! GOOD LUCK! HTH Jerry
