Never say never, but it's looking pretty skimpy in SoCal. I haven't hunted Coachella, so I don't know about the local area, it could be ok, since there's irrigation year round.

Some of the hunters on the Calif Predators Club forum have run into good sized coveys and had good days, others...nothing.

From my reference book on quail, The California Quail, A. Starker Leopold, rain makes for reproductive tendencies in quail. No rain, no woody. But, maybe irrigation is like a dirty magazine...simulates to stimulate.
