A dealer in British vintage doubles told me the same, the British single triggers were unreliable. He also stated that the value of my Adkin was less because it had a single rather than double triggers!

In fairness to the British, vintage Parker, Ithaca, and LC Smith single triggers are know to double. I know this from experience. The AH Fox single triggers were pretty reliable.
