FWIW, I'd rate it about the same as a diamond grade 101, value wise, but minus a hundred for not being marked 'Winchester'. Just my opinion, since you asked. The market here is fickle to off brand names & Nikko unfortunately qualifies. Your friend's side plated gun has some nice features like the trigger guard treatment for a right handed shooter. And too, it speaks loudly to how Olin/Winchester got shafted on the wood selection at the time of their joint venture. Its a very nicely executed gun, yet dif from the Grand European Winchesters of that era. It helps to like 101's. I do [the early one's w/the small dia. wrist that made a 12 feel like a 20 FN Super], but many do not.
