Thanks

The older ones come in at 7lb or just over that mark which is too light for 76mm case but nice option to have for occasional turkey or duck hunt. These guns are surprisingly hard to find around here perhaps 1 in 12 will be newer 3" gun with VR and choke tubed barrel. At LGS of half dozen seen all were old 2&3/4" guns with fixed chokes. I got excited when I spotted Ithaca pad and VR on one but closer examination proved it was little used 2&3/4" 37 in dreaded 381xxxxxx serial range. Not many were made because most did not work right.

Skeettx, after looking at that ad, think I'll just keep shooting, bismuth or nice shot in my 37R 12 from 52, New one doesn't have the charm and chrizma of the old lines. I'll pay the extra or load nice shot in my 2 3/4" and have a just as effective 37 as the 3" with steel. Just an old mans point of view.

I have one box left. After thinking about your post, Chris, I think this is how I will use mine up, on woodies in little beaver ponds. I could probably kill every woodie inside 20 yds. with 11/16 oz. of no. 9s, so this sorry Classic Doubles stuff should work alright there. My terrible experience with it has been at longer range on big ducks.

In checking out that website, I was fascinated to see that the Waterfowl model is "Your Hunting Solution to Outdoor Environments", but can't help but wonder what Ithaca recommends for indoor duck hunting?
