Thanks Jack. I did not know that. You learn something everyday. I should add that when I bought the gun, the seller did not inform me that the gun had been fitted with new barrels. The barrels were made and fitted by Charles Smith & Sons, Newark England. They did a fantastic job. While most people would be upset by this, I was actually pretty happy about it. Brand new barrels, 2 3/4" chambers proofed to shoot modern loads...I was planning on restoring the gun anyhow and the new barrels just seemed like an added bonus. The gun when I purchased it cost me less than a grand. The perfect foundation for a restoration/custom gun project.
