ohbrdhntr, thanks so much for your effort in sharing this info.
The 3rd link you sent shows a blueprint of the Hession Type 3 forearm, clearly labeled "HESSION TYPE FOR FIELD GRADE GUNS". It is 9.650" long, same length as stated in Mr. Schwing's book. Section B-B of that print shows the cross-section of the forearm at the front end. It shows the forearm is exactly on line with the centerline of the barrels.
So, if you have a really slim forearm, ~11" long, that extends about 1/4" above the CL of the barrels, what is it? Rhetorical question..... humm. Silvers

If you look at the forearm for the 12 gauge 32" VR, that is third from the top in the picture I posted, you will see that it is clearly like the one pictured for the Duck in lenght. These, I believe are 'Hession' forearms. -Dick

How did we reach a conclusion that a forearm 1.35 inches longer than the Hession blueprint is a Hession forearm just because it is slimmer than some other 11" forearm? I will have to admit, though, that all my 11" forearms, whether Trap, Duck, or Skeet, do extend past the centerline. I would assume that a forearm that is 11" long and extends only to the centerline is a special order item.

I don't think we reached that conclusion. The conclusion I reached is that the forearm on my 32" VR(pictured) and that of the mentioned 'Duck' which are about 9.650" each, agree with the blueprint and are in fact Hession forearms. The 11" slim that started this Thread is not a Hession but a variant on a Trap forearm. -Dick

That conclusion would depend on three things; the width dimension, the centerline, and the Cody letter. Of course, Cody letters are notorious for omitting special features that are obvious on the gun, but the width and centerline are defined in the blueprint. Just the 9.65 length does not a Hession make.
