I don't know, if the photo is the restock, the wood to metal fit along the tang isn't top quality and that is about the only place the edges are apparent in the photos.

I don't know what your new Fox is costing kevin, but if I could affort 20 or so grand I'd have got the H&H, but as a Englishman ,perhaps I'm biased.
Hard to compare the two, I think.
But I'd always rather have a lovely older Gun than a lovely new one...especially a high end brit...nothing like a well cared-for vintage beauty, to my eye anyhow.
In the second pic, on the top stock horn[really the lowerleft] there seems to be a fair sized knot, about 1/2" or so from the end, looks like smaller ones on the bottom one...surley these aren't knots, are they?
Nice bit of wood though.
cheers
Franc

If I had that type of money to spend on a gun, it would be the H&H except that that one is way overpriced.
Fox you've got to be kidding? Over here we run them to ground, or let the hounds have them.
Next thing you are going to tell me how wonderful your undelivered RBL is, superb wood, brilliant acid etched engraving, BLAH,BLAH.
Sad people, very sad, truly sorry, condolences on your sad loss of sanity.

Salopian, if you had that type of money to spend on a gun, you'd talk nice and in other words.

Smallbore. £4500 for new barrels? I thought that they were around £10k! (from H&H).

BTW Went to David Bakers Horsley book launch. A good evening with some nice guns there...

That's funny that the re-stocked H&H has poorer wood to metal fit than the original!!!! Says something about the precision and skill of the British craftman!!!!
All the best
