The old Miroku O/U have always appealed to me because of the engraving, but I've avoided them because I'd heard that parts were impossible to get. The new Citori 725 appears, on the out side at least, to be the same design as the old early Mirokus. So the question:

I found a Miroku that won't lock up. It appears that the little piece that slides back and forth (that I believe activates the cocking rod on the receiver) has been "forced" and does not go full travel, thus interfering with the gun's closing. That piece needs to be dressed so as to allow it to have full travel.
Or does the gun need to be cocked before connecting barrel and if so is that cocking rod pushed straight back? And how?
Thanks
