Pete, as an activist survivor of a a hundred campaigns, I know phone calls aren't enough. They're next to useless. No one counts them. At the very least, you make coalitions of interest right now, make a plan, assign responsibilities for letter-writing, free time on local radio and TV programs, talks to community organizations. Anti-laws got on the books from organizational muscle; they wanted it more.

The barrel on just about any semi-automatic pistol has a shroud that encircles or partly encircles the barrel. They may give the impression that they are talking about a perforated metal surround seen on military type rifles but this could be interpreted in a lot of ways.

Kingsley,
I believe hell may have just frozen over, and I can't believe I am saying this. But, here it goes anyway. "Well said" that is about as close as I can get to saying something nice. I know I can be pretty hard on you at times, but it shouldn't be taken personally, but rather politically.

I think they should outlaw golf clubs and baseball bats and shopping days for the women of these people who set around and think this crap up.It makes me sick they dont have a clue what they are even talking about .I would go on but my BP wont let me.I think these people need to get out of the city and see the rest of the world ,and not be waited on hand and foot.

Make the calls, send the emails, write your letters, and contact a real estate broker. I'm on the last step now. I think Chicago and NYC are in free-fall down the slippery slope. I recently read the AR rules for Calif and they're close behind.

This is the result of a core urban area of voters making the rules for hundreds of square miles of rural area that they have nothing in common with with regards to lifestyle. It's a red/blue state thing on a smaller scale. Wisconsin is now experiencing the same problem. This is going to continue in many states as urban populations swell and if you think any state is safe you are just kidding yourself.

Our only hope left in Illinois is the "Downstate Democrats" getting sick of the "Chicago Machine" and crossing over to elect more Republicans. Barring that, it is only a matter of time until the "gun grab cancer" that grips Chicago sweeps the rest of the state.

If the Governor and his power company friends get their way, no one will be able to afford to live here anyway. Largest tax increase in state history combined with a 324% (in my case) increase for electricity... I think I will have to sell my guns just to pay the bills.
