Who, in the states, can do a good job of barrel sleeving and what does this normally cost?

Thanks

Need more info
Shotgun or rifle?
Original caliber if rifle or different caliber?
What action?
What gun?
Any other info is helpful
Mike

Thanks for the links.

The shotgun is a English boxlock ejector (probably Webley built) with 2" chambers. No gauge change. But it will need new ribs.

Thanks for the help.

few do it...have heard costs run from $1000 to $2000, depending on the level of cosmetic perfection you require.

it has been my experience, that unless you can increase the value of a gun by at least twice the cost of any gunsmithing work, it aint worth doing... unless of course, the gun has value to you beyond mere money.

keep it simple and keep it safe...

Adam, I recently pursued a complicated sleeve on that 'air conditioned' Boss Hammergun I bought a couple of months ago against hoJo's best dissuasions. Steve Bertram (SKB) sends barrels to John Foster in batches to save shipping expense.

All seemed a go on the deal to me until John decided my gun was not a viable candidate. Your best bet might be to call Steve and get a price after he vets your barrels and communicates with Mr. Foster.

Good Luck...Geo

I'm pretty sure Hugh Lomas does that work as mentioned above. He is a 'metal' man. Kirk Merrington in TX, but he has been ill.

Adam, you may also want to check with Briley to see if they are still doing this work. About a decade ago they did a set of barrels for me and the job was cosmetically excellent and the barrels shoot to point of aim. Everything inside and out looks very well done and the rust blue is excellent. Cost was $1400 as I recall and it took them almost a year to return them purportedly for needing to redo the job after the first set of tubes were not correct in some way.
