I like my postwar L.C. Smith and my old Model 5100 (?) Montgomery Wards Stevens. However, I have not given the Stevens the volume test. I have not heard much negative press about the old Stevens guns, so I assume it will pass the test. I have been shooting the Smith for more than twenty years and just love it. My old Parker skeet gun has never given me any problems, but I don't think a Parker is a .410 to consider for most shooters. If I were looking today, an AYA #2 or an RBL would be my choice in those price ranges. In lower price ranges, the Iver Johnson or prewar Stevens would be my choice. I don't own a Skeeter in .410, but my 12 gauge Skeeter is a wonderful gun. If money were no object (under $50,000), a Galazan Fox would be my pick.
