I was hoping someone might be able to look up a gunmaker for me in one of Nigel Brown's books.
He is William Nunn of Hertford.
A timeline of when he worked would be most appreciated.

Entry reads:
Charles, William & George Nunn, Fore St, Hertford 1869-c.94.(qv James Nunn pres father)
James Nunn 1831-39 at the same address.
Not much help I suspect but some dates for you.

Thank you, that does help. I just picked up a beautiful, single barrel percussion sporting gun signed only by William. My guess it was made early 1850's. The records are probably somewhat imcomplete, but I wanted to see how early the family was producing guns in Hertford.
Now, if only I can find a trade label to go with the gun...
