Its a piece of junk. It is a Brummie sxs sidelock non-ejector (pics below). The rib says "Lyon & Lyon Ltd. Calcutta Forester Gun". It has 30 inch barrels and 2 3/4 inch chambers. The butt and forend (Deeley Latch) are locally made. Someone has taken a stonemason's chisel to the engraving which probably was not great shakes anyway. Gold has been added to the "Forester Gun" on the sideplates. It looks quite elegant at a distance, but isn't worth toffee close up. It is mine and shoots like a dream.
I know Lyon and Lyon only sold guns and have always wondered who actually made it?
