Fun's fun, and I have a collector's soul, always have, ever since I was a boy of 7 years age.
But there's something flat plain insane about paying $250 for an empty box.
Then again, I suppose one could turn the tables on me for some of the gun collecting craziness I've been subject to now and again.
Oh well, we're only here for awhile anyway... I guess as long as the basics are taken care of to hell with burning the "extra" money.
So hey! Give me 4 empty boxes for a cool grand, while they last at those prices.

I think your decimal point slid too far to the left. The box the poster was talking about was $2500.00+(empty)!!!! That's more than most of my guns cost...

What happened to this listing. I tried to check it price just now & could get nothing. Even if already sold the listing should still be thre. I therefore assume the auction was pulled for some reason. Did some "E-Bay Spy" check to see if seller would also ship the shells.

Listing was removed because it included live shells against EBay rules. Sometimes a listing like that is done knowing the item will get pulled. Seller hoping to get a item noticed before it gets yanked. Then they try to sell the item directly without EBay being involved. Lot of sellers will answer questions with their email address or phone number in the answer to make later contact easier. I have bought a few gun barrels while they were a banned item this way in the past and it is very much buyer beware as EBay is not involved and you are buying from someone out of the blue. Scammers dream come true if you are not lucky.

I was looking at the empty 150 boxes at $39. If you can get hold of the European Winchester catalogue; I send one each year to a Winchester collector on this forum, you will find that they are current production. Nothing rare about those. Lagopus.....
