Runs, "7018 has a heavy flux run off, and can be only run "out of position" Uphill-"

Maybe for you, but the 1 states it is for all applications, and is an excellent rod for weaving cover passes on pipe in the horizontal position (vertical weave)

But 2G- downhill, is a No-No for heavy slag producing rods such as 7018, 7014 and 7024-- However, I prefer to use 5P or HYP on horizontal if you need to weave a cover pass, fast fill-fast freeze- and chip the lighter slag with an air powered needle descaler-- to each his own-- 7018 will give you the same PSI tensile strength as HYP, but the advantage in 7018 is the lesser chance of hydrogen enbrittlement

Tell you what, Joey- here's two challenges for you- we'll run the ASTME guided bend coupons on 3/8 mild steel with 7018-- 45% included angle and 3/8 backing plate to AWS code- I've got 3 C notes that says mine will pass first time on both root and face bends, and yours will be-- well, Boat Anchors- after I've whipped you on my "home turf" SMAW out-of-position welding-- we'll move on to the next challenge- wing shooting- We'll set up in a dove field when the season is on- each with a double shotgun of our own choice and gauge- and each with one box of 25 factory new shells of our choosing- with neutral referees- the man who takes a limit with the fewest shells out of that box of 25 is the winner of the Jackpot-- no decoys, baited fields or shooting over watering holes or stock tanks- and in a Southern State that ain't yours- for neutral ground- again, I've got some C notes I'll be glad to wager- how about you??

Foxy couldn't hit a dove in arse with a suicide belt!

And all his "C Notes" come from Union-extorted mob wage. If he really has any.

Bugger the Irish... Unions are for idiots!

Three pages, or so, on any given technical matter here is about the limit before the drooling, anonymous, morons show up....

Not sure I want a gun with welded tubes, but, the topic was interesting for a bit. Heavy emphasis on was....
