Years ago I purchased at auction a set of Thomas Turner guns along with a camp chest embossed "R.J.R." (like a picnic chest) by the same maker.
1. a .577 BP Nitro Express double hammer rifle, 2. a 12 bore hammerless double sporting gun and 3. a .577 percussion Enfield musket (to be carried by his gun bearer) all marked by the maker and all from the estate of R.J. Reynolds of Winston Salem, North Carolina that accompanied him on safari in Africa in the 1890's. I believe that this was the Thomas Turner of Birmingham.
