One thing that double gun guys learn if they are at it long enough is that "long enough" is a relative term. Also, it is a lot easier to gain a half inch with a lace on Brauer Brothers pad from Brownell than it is to send a gun to a high dollar gunsmith to do a poor job installing an ugly 1 1/2 inch Galazan pad that will lower the value of the gun by hundreds of dollars. Almost all of my shooting guns wear slip on pads while they are being shot, which is about a thousandth of a percent of their lifetimes.
