I am trying to help an acquaintance get an idea of what a gun may be worth. I am not an expert in shotguns by any means and am just learning. This gun is a little bit of a mystery to me but I am quite intrigued with its looks and trying to figure out exactly what it is (Please pay no attention to the winchester box it is in, just for storage). It looks to be a .410, it is a side by side, it says Beretta, Italy on one side of the barrel and P. Beretta on the other side of the barrel. Underneath the forearm it says CAM.70 KGI 270
I asked for some help on another forum and one gentleman said it might be a "stella" however when I found pictures of the them it didn't look like there were pictures with it of another gun that was a "vittoria" and it seems to look like that. However I have found several vittoria guns on the internet and none seem to have as nice of engraving as this gun does. So I am still tryig to find out what model it is exactly and a ballpar of what it would be worth any help would be appreciated. Thank You for any info

Since you gun is marked for a 70 mm chamber, I suspect it is NOT a 410, but the underside of the barrel flats will tell us.

On many Beretta SxS's the actual model number will be found stamped in the wood on the underside of the forearm.

The CAM 70 is the chamber length which is 2&3/4". However, since the gun is a .410 you would have to say it is chambered for the 2.5" cartridges and not the 3". Three inch chambers would been stamped CAM 76. The KG 1270 is the barrels weight when they were finished or 1.270 KG.

There should be additional markings on the barrel's underside and also on the water table. What are they? Also what is the barrel length?

The gun you depict is made to a very high standard and was likely a comissioned high grade or even a custom shop gun. I've not seen one quite like it before. I'd love to see a few more pics, if its convenient. One of the actions's nose, another of the water table and one of the underside of the action. Is the front trigger articulated? What is the length of pull from the front trigger?

The crown embosssed on the opening lever suggests it's destination was for royalty of some sort. I don't know who the LLL is, but if it is a small to scale gun possibly made for a child, one could say 'Lucky Little Lady or Lad' .. w/their tongue firmly in cheek. Normal Italian might be 'Luso Luso Luso' which would translate to 'very, very, very' special.

yes, I appreciate the help. I will try to get more pics but the gun is not at my house so it will take a couple days at the least. As to the things you have described, I am at a loss. I don't know what a water table is, I can remove the forearm and take pics. I can measure the barrel. I don't know what you mean by is the front trigger articulated, also I don't know how to determine length of pull from the front trigger. Sorry I don't know much about shotguns. But that said I find this gun very intruiging and the more I learn about it the more I want to learn. Thanks for the help guys.

It is not a Vittoria. I own one. Why do I get the impression that this is a custom gun? The triple L is certainly not standard.

Take the barrels off and turn them around. There should be a date code or actual date on the flats.

Water table: when you remove the barrels from the action you can see the flat horizontal area of the action that the barrels rest on. That is the water table and will have some assorted stamps/marks/numbers on it. There will also be similar stamps on the bottom of the rear portion of the barrels (barrel flats) that would rest on the action's water table when gun is assembled & closed.

You should also look/photograph the bottom of the action, where the trigger guard is. There may also be some writing that might mention a model description. You should also look carefully all around the engraving for a, possibly very small, inscribed Italian name. That could be the name of the engraver.

Articulated trigger; The front trigger would be made with a sprung hinge allowing a slight forward movement when pressed from behind.

Length of pull
Take a tape measure and measure the length from the front center of the forward trigger to the edge of the butt plate or recoil pad

Most of the fine gun dealers I know would price that gun at $10,000 minimum, probably more, and possibly a lot more.
