Hello Jack,
Unless you are loading for super low pressure, or for short chambers, you will find it more ecomonical to buy the Winchester X-pert loads at Walmart for 12 and 20 gauge

Around Amarillo it is LESS than $6.00 a box of 25

Mike

Intersting, I've got the reloading equipment my hold up is a reasonable source of trust worthy 3" hulls.

Pooch,

Don't let the lack of 3" hulls hold you up. Ballistic Products and Precision Reloading offer new and once fired hulls in several brands that will fit most any need. I believe you can even order some from Cabela's.

Joe Wood,

I too would like lead "forever and everything" but regulations limit my upland and close the door on my waterfowling. My choices are some serious fines, don't go or shoot nontoxic. I like hunting too much and can't afford the tariff for shooting lead.

Six dollars per box isn't too bad. The last time I bought steel was about 6-7 years ago for duck hunting and a box cost me $13. and change. What is the difference between the steel shells that cost 6.- per box and those that retail for more than twice the price?

I too wish I could load and shoot lead forever but reality rears its ugly head that is what I have to deal with.

I've modest income and live carefully---a freelancer works until they drop---but there's nothing in my credo that would allow price to stop me from enjoying the out of doors. What am I living for?

We live to work, to be useful, and work to pay for the essentials. If we're not having fun we're not living. It makes no sense to deprive oneself of a day's gunning because of the price of shot, non-toxic or not.
