It seems I need to make up a rule for each different rifle. With that big flat post I held six o'clock on the red dot in the center, which is not easy to see by the way that 100 yards. I like a pointed post much better.

Most rifles have a round bead front sight and I like to center them in the middle of the white plate. My eyes are not what they once were so I use what works for me.

Bottom line is each person has to find what works best for them.
