Mike makes a very good point. For example the first photo is of a target where I had previously loosened the elevation adjustment on a Zeiss Zielsech 6X scope mounted on one of my 9.3X74R double rifles. I didn't have the time that evening to alternate barrels or let the gun cool so I just fired the right barrel. The picture of the orange target is of the practice shot I took prior to a hunt a week after the adjustment. Range for both was fifty yards. As you can see the cold left barrel pulled the expanding hot right barrel over to the left roughly an inch after just four shots.
