Mr. Bailey,
Were the queen to show up at your shoot, it might be best fashion to stash the Winchester, regardless of provenance. Bad form, you know.
That said, the queen doesn't show up where I hunt, and I've been known to shoot a pump, or, gasp, an autoloader, from time to time. Bad form becomes me, you know. I own a model 1912, one of the first years production 20 gauges, and mark my words, it is a lethal little thing. I prefer the Ithaca model 37s, as I am lefthanded, but, I own several different makes, including lowly Mossberg 500s, and find they all have their place in the safe, next to my humble collection of doubles.
I'm guessing the Yanks will smile, and get in line for their turn, and I hope you all enjoy the shoot. Toast Mr. McIntosh with a wee dram of some good libation when the guns get put away, and think of how he influenced a generation of shooters, and how his Father influenced your shoot.

Best,
Ted
