I know they must be boring to a lot of folks so I'm going to change the way I post them. I'll no longer post them under the thread about that particular rifle but just do a general posting like this.
I try to spend as much time at the range as I can when the weather is good...I like to shoot.
I know a few are interested in how this old iron shoots and others not so much.
Suggestions welcome, even one that says "No-More".

Incredible! I always love a nice Mauser sporting rifle. This one is exceptional.

I love that Dubiel. It'd be interesting to know your loads too. I tend to stick with heavy bullets, but I was always intrigued with Whelen's small bullet/low recoil "foraging" loads too.

Nothing fancy in the load department. I try to make a 06 load that duplicated the loads back when the rifle was made.
At one time I bought bulk Remington Core-Lokt 150gr 30-caliber bullets. They are no longer an inexpensive bullet. Because I shoot about 300-500 rounds of 06 every summer I bought a lot of bulk Hornady 150 FMJBT seconds or blemished bullets. I shoot 44gr 4895 (about 2700fps) and whatever primer I have lot of at the time.
Every case is full-length re-sized and the bullets are seated to factory OAL.
My targets are whatever I can see with the sights that are on the rifle, most have a receiver sight and a round or square front sight. I like white paper plates and set them at whatever range I can see an even halo around.
If I were to use the rifle for anything other than punching holes in paper I would do some load development. Using the very same load in everything gives me a better idea about the potential of different rifles.

Thanks. Never thought about using one load for everything. I agree, Core-Lokt's are no longer cheap, even in bulk.
That is one thick recoil pad!

It's good to see those old girls singing. Keep the range reports coming. The old masters would be sorely dismayed to learn their creations never saw the light of day on a range.

That is one thick recoil pad! When I got the rifle it had a few problems, someone mounted a scope on top and bent the bolt, of course they had to cut out the stock and action to get the bend bolt down. They had also removed the Lyman 48 and badly filled in the cutout with wood. The rifle had a bad pad and short LOP so the rifle doctor put on a long pad for me.

Another great red stock. I get tired of blonde colored English walnut stocks, a'la Dakota.
