JK, You probably did what was best for you. I was very frustrated with the delivery process myself and thought about cancelling and getting a refund.
I now have my RBL and I'm glad I stuck it out. What I now have is a very nice all American made 20ga SxS that IMO is a great value for the price paid.
All I can say for those that have RBL's ordered, stick it out, more than like'ly you'll be glad you did. We all knew that there would be a waiting period when we ordered.

Seems to me you are getting a pretty nice gun for the money. So you wait. Big deal. I suppose you could always go out and get a new American SxS though at your local Cabela's.

I ordered December 29, 06 and I am ready for waiting. No problem with that. I am just little disapointed that I still do not have any confirmation that I ordered the gun. I do not have order number or receipt for 3,475 i paid for it. I understand that manufacturing of the gun takes time but this should not be a problem. I called 3 times with question about order number or receipt and I was told that they are little behind. Did you guys received anyting in form of order number or order confirmation? I hate to be a pest and keep calling them but I am concerned that I have nothing as proof of placing the order.

I sent them a request to change my order to a straight grip and they sent me a copy of my invoice. I ordered mine Dec '06 and haven't heard a word from them since I requested the change. Still hanging in there.

Cancelled my RBL last month because I got terminally tired of the lies. I received my refund in four days sans any interest. Fact is, she laughed when I mentioned interest. I ordered my gun PIF on 11.12.05 and was told I would receive it in the summer. Then, they told me it would ship in the fall. In the fall they said before Xmas. After Xmas they said the first of the year. In February they said "spring", which probably meant May. That was enough for me. I salivated for over a year waiting for this "Messiah" gun and finally pulled the plug, not because I didn't want to wait, but because this company was treating me like excrement. It had nothing to do with patience. I thought CSM's arrogance was astounding, and these Galazan cheerleaders who berate us for "whining" and cancelling on principle miss the point entirely. Customer service is a rare, if not extinct, commodity in the US. The attitude of CSM was "who cares if you cancel, there's another buyer waiting in que to replace you". I will never give my business to CSM again because I think they never appreciated my hard-earned $3,100 start with. I was supposed to feel privileged to stand in line for 14 months to buy one of Tony's guns...that's BS! He asked for payment in full, which he got. The least we could expect for our money (investment, actually) was a straight answer. I'm happy for those who stuck it out and got a dividend for their patience. But for some us, standing in line to be treated like anonymous suckers, was simply too demeaning.

I have nothing against CSMC or Tony.....I was always treated very well in my communications with them. I guess it just takes more to satisy some people. I cancelled mine but it was just because I'd lost interest and moved on to other projects. I may even buy a used RBL someday......I think the one above is a bargin and its instant gratification!!

The Griffin and Howe gun is a pretty nice one with some degree of upgraded wood, scratch on the cheek it looks like. However, it is the poster gun for the case color option. A case color gun could be used in the field for thirty years and still look better than this gun. I guess it's all "what you like".

eightbore, I agree, the engraving kills it for me on the G & H RBL. Apparently, the original owner lost interest in the gun in short order.
