The rating system is peculiar as are all such systems. There are some on the board with low ratings that are valuable contributors and others with relatively high ratings that provide little. Like a nail, the higher you stand above the board the more likely someone is going to try to hammer you back in.

Jerry: Hear...Hear!!! My uncle was wounded at Pont du Hoc. Here's to you Uncle Joe and all the others that did just as much that day! I ask my uncle once who he felt was the greatest guy that day, and without hesittion he said "THE SWABBIE COOK THAT MADE HIS STEAK AND EGG SANDWICH HE CARRIED ASHORE" he said it was the best he ever ate and when he was wounded he believed the food gave him the nourishment to stay alive until medics arrived with plasma. They are the "Greatest Generation" !

Peer review is what it is, the best of a bad bunch. That said, as an author and editor of scientific publications, I could care less what spell checking one uses or much of anything to do with that. Peers are chosen on the basis of ability to judge the work.

And one should not confuse the ability to judge with the ability to perform. I know good music in certain genres when I hear it. But I can't play. I can judge good woodworking, though I'm personally mediocre on a good day. And I don't know of a single sports coach that is, or ever was, a tenth as good as his superstar player.

Don't over think the little star system here. This forum "is what it is" stars or no. I like it, so I'm not going to worry about my short star count. In fact, Joe, I'd give you my two if I could.
