I came across a side by side made by Husqvaran in 1915, according to the serial number and the info from online sources. 12 gauge 2.5'' chamber, inspector mark "O" for Oskar Fredriksson and model stamp 310AS. The odd part about this all are the two Nazi stamps on the bottom of the barrels on the flats. One on each side of the lug. I can't find any source this. Sweden was not occupied by Germany, there are no German proofs. Any idea?

Sounds like a tube forge mark & not a Nazi symbol.
Kind Regards,

Firearms imported into Germany were re-proofed.
I own a crica 1906 Manufrance Ideal with Waffennamts and the date of 3 43 on the barrel flats.
Mine's a tale that can't be told, my freedom I hold dear.

I don't own the shotgun.... yet, but I will get pictures. I guess what I find odd is the nazi stamp has nothing else with it, no eagle or anything else. pictures to come soon.

Does it resemble the airstrip type mark: http://www.doublegunshop.com/forums/ubbt...true#Post212516If so, it is not a Nazi symbol. Maybe it was Geno or Tobias that had info on it?? Kind Regards, Raimey rse

Raimey, that is it! So is it a "proof" mark or inspector mark?

My 1918 vintage No. 310AS also has those marks, and according to the information I have they are a steel quality mark.

Those are not "Nazi" marks. They are old lappland runes that were used by Husqvarna to denote hammer forged barrels. Husqvarna discontinued using them during WWII.

Indeed. The symbols denote a special steel and have no relation to Nazi Germany. I know a guy that overpaid for one sold as a Nazi seized weapon. He was annoyed to find he was duped.

Hello. Here is a link. Image-File_Edmonton_swastikas_s.jpg‎ ( GOOGLE ) they are not nazi.( I think )the pic is taken before is was banned.
Swastika is 2-3000 years old symbol of the sun.

The swastika was used by many cultures prior to being stained, perhaps forever, by the Nazis. If you look at the tile decorations on 1930s period US post offices, you will often see it incorporated in the designs. Common in Mexican and Southwest native American ceramics. A National symbol of Finland. It once had very POSITIVE connotations.

My Husqvarna model 103 CS hammergun made in 1912 has these marks. They are a steel quality mark that they stopped using around WWII.
Take care,
Mike <><
