Raimey kindly posted a couple pic's of my latest H Scherping aquisition in hopes that someone might have some insight to the provenance of this old D/R. We have been able to comfirm several guns from The Crown Prince’s gunroom, Schloss Cumberland, Gmunden Schloss Marienburg. Made for Ernst August, Crown Prince of Hannover, Circa 1878. The gold inlays on this gun seem to also ressemble the symbols(crown & rampant lion) from the Hannover coat of arms. Hoping that someone here may be able to help us learn more about Heinrich Scherping and the history on his fine firearms.
