King I dont' disagree with Chuck's sentiments or yours I guess I just look at things from a slightly different pespective.
The Hunt: Running down guns to me is every bit as much fun as owning guns. I am a firearms generalist who owns doubles of course but I have other types as well. Some of my out-of-the-woodwork finds have been real thrills for me over the years others real disappointments. At some point in time I'll probably no longer either be capable of doing this or no longer have the interest. As long as the interest is there I will continue to pursue it as this is one of my principal hobbies.
I have a detailed inventory of what I own and contacts for sale if necessary so there would be no burden on my family if they had to dispose of whatever is left once the grim reaper catches up with me.
The thrills and disappointments of the chase in this hobby remind me of an old story:
A newly departed individual found himself in a sylvan setting walking along a stream that resembled the famous Battenkill. He chanced upon a fly fisherman who on every cast was reeling in a 5 lb.+ trout. The newcomer remarked. "Well I guess I've arrived in Heaven". The fisherman replied. "No sir actually you are in Hell".
